John Hills

Hi, I’m John, I’m a student studying English Literature so I spend my time hopping between Birmingham and Cornwall. Being an English Student, I’m an avid reader with a soft spot for Haruki Murakami, Joseph Conrad and Philip K. Dick. Film takes up a large part of my free time, whether it's watching them or making them. The films I’ve made with my friends have ended with varying degrees of success, the worst opening to an audience of about two, the best making it into some small scale competitions. I often try to write, meaning I have the beginnings to far too many scripts and novels, and the endings to very few. Photography has been a hobby for years, since I bought an old Box Brownie at a car boot sale. I’ve carried on collecting old cameras and wasting a whole lot of time with them. I've been lucky enough to make it into an exhibition in Falmouth University, and to appear in an NME article (piggybacking other people's success, I know). I’ll carry on snapping photos wherever I am and whatever I’m doing, be it for fun or by request.
